"Children from around the world share their thoughts on how humans can make the world a better place for all"
On 20th September, during the Global Week for Future, roughly 4 million people participated in what was likely the largest climate strike in history. Many of these protestors were school children and the week-long event was part of the School Strike for Climate (or Friday’s for Future), spearheaded by Greta Thunberg. With more access than ever before to knowledge of the world around them, our children are alert to the impact of humanity on the planet, and many of them are taking it into their own hands - the Friday’s For Future website itself declares: We strike because we have no choice.
Perhaps, then, it’s no surprise that when we spoke with children around the world about how they think humans can make the world a better place, the overwhelming majority expressed concern over pollution, plastics, and environmental damage. Their words were so powerful that we wanted to share them with you here.
We know that it is our responsibility to leave our planet in a better condition than we found it, for our children and the future of earth and all its living inhabitants. That is why, at Quintet Private Bank, we are committed to sustainability. And we’re not just talking about it, we’re taking action. In July, we pledged to eliminate all plastic consumables from our premises by the end of 2020, and we remain determined to deliver on this pledge.
We’re calling on you to join us, make your own pledge, and help secure a better future for our planet, our home.
